Seneca Gaming Corporation Buys Niagara Falls Property
Niagara Falls, N.Y., June 15, 2004 - Rickey L. Armstrong Sr., President of the Seneca Nation of Indians, announced today that the Seneca Niagara Falls Gaming Corporation (SNFGC) has entered into an agreement with Frank A. Amendola to purchase the Amendola Office Building at 345 Third Street, Niagara Falls, NY, USA. This building is located on the northwest side of Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel. Terms of the sale were not disclosed but SNFGC expects to complete the deal by August 2004.
The property fits within the boundaries of the 50-acre area of land described in the Nation-State Gaming Compact between the Seneca Nation of Indians and the State of New York, and designated as land to be developed by the Nation in connection with the Casino.
The property is a 6-story office building, approximately 179,000 square feet. It was originally opened in 1972 and is of steel and concrete construction. SNFGC intends to use some of the space to for its administrative offices and the Seneca Gaming Authority. The remainder of the building will be leased as office space, and existing leases will be honored.
"This is a major step in the Nation's effort to assemble the entire 50-acres to develop a full-service resort at Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel," stated Armstrong.
Amendola indicated that he is pleased with the sale of the property. "The Seneca Niagara Falls Gaming Corporation is the right buyer for this property and I am happy to participate in some small way in helping the Seneca Nation achieve their goal," he said.
